MaxPro™ RA Valve Closure System

Our MaxPro™ RA Valve Closure System is designed for both cylinders and containers. This patent-pending system prevents releases of pressurized hazardous chemicals at the source. It is designed to stand alone as a complete system or to integrate and interface with existing components. The system includes the actuator, air supply hose, air control unit, and control panel. It is engineered, designed, and field-tested to ensure reliable performance while reducing installation time, maintenance, and material cost.

The actuator is constructed of aircraft-quality aluminum and high-grade carbon and stainless steel for maximum service life. The housing is sealed to prevent intrusion from dirt and water in outdoor applications, while a two-step polyurethane coating provides corrosion protection.

You may have an application requiring modified or unique hardware. In these cases, we offer an Application Evaluation Service.

Some valve closures systems are simply built. Ours is engineered.

Features

  • For cylinders and containers
  • Mounts on the valve body, not the yoke
  • Requires 90 psig at -40°F to operate
  • Closes valves with 40 lb-ft of torque in less than 5 seconds
  • For use on cylinders and containers of anhydrous ammonia, anhydrous hydrogen chlorine, chlorine, hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide and other pressurized hazardous gases and liquids.
  • Accommodates vacuum regulators (chlorinators)
  • Only 5.5 pounds
  • Designed in accordance with The Chlorine Institute’s guidelines for valve closure systems

System Components

Every component of the MaxPro™ RA Valve Closure System is engineered to be more versatile, efficient, and reliable than alternative units on the market. The system includes the following:

Air Control Unit

The Air Control Unit supplies the proper amount of clean pressurized air/nitrogen to the system. The equipment is pre-assembled for simple installation. It is available for non-explosive and explosive environments.

Air Control Unit

Air Receiver Assembly

The Air Receiver Assembly allows the UniPro™ System to function even if power or air pressure is lost. The unit is designed to accommodate up to eight containers/cylinders. Typically, it is mounted under the air control unit.

Uninterruptible Power Supply

The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) maintains power to the control panel and the solenoid valve within the Air Control Unit.

Control Panel

The Control Panel automatically activates the actuator in an emergency. The system is manually activated by depressing the emergency stop button on the panel. The panels are listed by Underwriters Laboratory to UL 508A for Enclosed Industrial Control Panels and the equivalent cUL mark in Canada. In applications where CSA listed control panels are required, please contact us. We also can supply custom panels for explosive environments.

Remote Emergency Stop Pushbutton Panel

The Remote Emergency Stop Pushbutton Panel (E-Stop Panel) is installed wherever convenient for operators to reach in an emergency. The operators can use the E-Stop Panel to remotely shut the railcar valves without approaching the railcar. It is available for non-explosive and explosive environments.
